David and I have decided to discontinue our adoption of a second child. We are going to focus on Alexa since she both requires and benefits from more time and attention than most kids do.

I'm sorry Fred. You can only do what is right for your family even if it's not the 2 kids 2 parents family that everyone else has. I love you all!

A family isn't determined by the number of people in it, but by the love that connects each member to the other. Alexa is lucky to have two loving parents just as you are to have a beautiful, loving daughter.

Please know that we think of you often... You ARE doing a great job with Alexa and as others have said she is truly lucky as are you. Call if you ever need to talk--and we need to take you up on date night soon! Last week was just too crazy...
